SHIKO : Nigerian drum rhythm
Here's an African conga drum rhythm that our drum circle does.
I hope you can figure out the notation; it's pretty straightforward.
This is a fairly easy rhythm, except for the middle conga part
(the "Woodpecker"). To play at tempo this part takes a lot
of practice. Enjoy!
KEY:
GN = right hand bass tone in center of drum
DN = left hand, same as GN
GO = right hand tone at edge of drum; hand held stiff
DO = left hand, same as GO
PA = right hand slap tone; hand loose, wrist movement to slap drum
head with fingertips
TA = left hand, same as PA
X = bell tone
